I rented a car for 2 months and 2 days. The first car I had for 2 days and had to bring it back because the oil light and wrench picture came on. The second car I had I had to bring it back because I or anyone.else couldn't open the.cover over the gas tank to put gas in. The third car is working out just fine and I'm happy with it.
We arrived in Albuquerque to find that we had reserved a car for Santa Fe by mistake, but the Budget employee was very helpful in getting as a comparable car at a reasonable rate (seeing it was a same day rental in a busy city). She was patient and friendly and efficient (Shanell-?SP). She took what could have been a horrible experience and changed it into one of the most pleasant interactions I have ever had with a rental car company. Albuquerque and the balloons are gorgeous as is Santa Fe. Wow!
WATCH OUT FOR OVER CHARGES. I BOOKED A CAR AND PREPAID A MONTH IN ADVANCE. Originally I had a great experience with Budget. The transaction was extemely easy, but when I got home I reviewed my bank statement to find that they double charged me for car rental. I paid $197.29 a month prior to my reservation and then they charge me 232.42 when I returned the vehicle. I called to customer service and spoke with Irvin, I informed them of the double charge and he basically told me that I authorized some type of extra coverage for my vehicle. Why would I authorize a coverage for more than my rental fees would be? He was not able to get resolve the issue and claimed that I would need to send a dispute to them in writing.
Oh this place. Love it when they insist that your travels need an upgrade in the car you're driving; this wasn't close to being true. They also upgraded us into the absolute worst car I have ever rented, so we needed to change it at our destination. Then when we called the Budget in the city we were going to, they said we didn't need the AWD car at all. Ridiculous. Luckily the other location had a better range of vehicles and treated us well. Don't rent here. I assure you that you'll receive better service and cars somewhere else.
The dude on the phone tells me he can't tell me any prices because he's busy and has a line also really rude will never rent from these people ever! Douche bags..
I will never, rent from Budget again and warn others to watch out for this type of shady business. I will be disputing this with my bank as well as with filing a consumer complaint.
