It’s in the middle of a vast desert more than half-hour drive from downtown Albuquerque. Apparently the metropolitan area has been designed to sell cars and remote houses. Absurdly inconvenient.
Staff were friendly, office is comfortable, more pleasant experience then most clinics.
I like the UNM westside clinic a lot. I started with the OB clinic there - Dr. Swanson is a really friendly, knowledgeable doctor! After my son was born, I started seeing Dr. Nelson of pediatrics. It's easy to park and check in. They keep the clinics clean. I actually live on the other side of town, but I still keep going to this clinic because I like the doctors and the facility so much! I'm not sure what the previous poster encountered - all the staff speak English perfectly fine. Perhaps they changed things or he/she had a different experience. I've been going there for almost a year with no problems (And when you are getting OB care.. you go to the doctor more than most people!)
The front desk staff has many friendly and eager to help folks.
The lady at Tricore who takes blood, if needed, is right there on site and oh my gosh is she the best ever. Hardly knew she had started when she said she was finished....sooo good!
Love to go therestaff always very friendly and accessible and help me with lots of info to help me choose what's best for me and my kids
Joanne Johnston is an amazing doctor. Yea, her title is CNP, but she operates in full on doctor mode putting the dozens of MDs I've know in my lifetime to utter shame. I'm finally being taken seriously and getting answers to decades of questions and concerns those other docs couldn't have been bothered by. Joanne takes time to ask questions...and then, you won't believe this, she actually listens to the answers. Yes...she listens. Joanne picked up on a problem that has been ongoing for a couple of years that those other guys should have discovered. She found it in one visit. I feel so very fortunate to have landed this amazing woman as my PCP. I have no doubt that I will continue to get answers and support for my health care needs with Joanne Johnston on my side.
Wait time has never been more than 10 minutes. Love this office. Love my doc even more!!
The first appointment took a while to schedule...but I'm so thankful I waited.
