Great treatment. Nice folks. I am a happy Pres patient.
I was so frustrated by the lack of response and followup on my colonoscopy (performed April 2017) that I decided to look for another GI. I experienced all of the negative comments listed on these reviews. The Presbyterian GI Department needs a complete overhaul. It took several months for them to call me to schedule the procedure after I was given authorization to have one. Then, it took another 2 months to get the procedure scheduled. The doctor (Dr. Valenzuela) discussed the results with me while I was still groggy with the anesthesia. There was a problem and I needed to get a followup. I waited a few weeks without hearing from anyone, so I called and wrote messages to the staff. Still no call back. Finally a nurse who mispronounced the condition (tortured rather than tortuous colon) called me back asking if anyone had called me. She said I'd need another procedure, but couldn't request it until Dr. Valenzuela requested it and then they could check to see if Medicare would approve it. I never heard back until I received a letter dated Sept. 11: "This is a reminder that you have an outstanding radiology order(s).... We encourage you to have the test(s) completed within the next 7 days. Failure to complete lab work may result in a delay in refilling prescriptions. If you have any questions please contact our office...." I was shocked. I have not heard diddly-squat from these people other than this somewhat threatening letter. I'm looking for another practice; however, I fear that they are the one and only in the Albuquerque area.
A close relative had a STAT order to be seen here by ER who wanted to admit this person to the hospital but this person could not risk losing job, income or insurance due to being admitted. This medical facility has taken over two weeks to get their paperwork figured out before being able to make the appointment. Then made the appointment. Then called to reschedule the appointment until after the doctor they schedule with could get back from vacation. Patient will have to go back to ER for severe intestinal bleeding while this giant nugget goes on vacation. How negligent and heartless can a medical facility be, even when four other medical professionals have done everything they can to get this patient in asap? Enjoy your vacation!! Disgusting heartless pigs could not even reschedule with a different doctor. What does STAT mean to these doctors. I can tell you they are earning themselves a reputation in the medical community and by the patient reviews , in the community in general. FYI, Presbyterian as a whole, makes a practice of making everything as difficult and complicated as possible before you get the care you need. That is their idea of minimizing costs, those who give up simply don't get the care they need. And many in need of care end up traumatized by the horrible bedside manner of the careless doctors who stay with Presbyterian.
Don't come here. Doctors provided lazy unattantive care and did not even contact me with test results.
The staff was sweet, the doctor not. Did not care and would not help. It was a waist of my time and money. The doctor does not care about the patient. Don't waist your time 0
