Amy Schmidt has been our family doctor for more than twenty years. We've been grateful to know her: she's caring and informed, and she always takes her time to explain anything unusual (as well as to visit a bit - we know she actually cares about us as people). We've had several occasions where we've needed recommendations for specialists, and Dr. Schmidt has always given us recs that were spot-on. I've recommended Dr. Schmidt to my friends for years (just recommended another one today - I'm doing this review because I Googled her contact info to give my friend) and I'm sure we'll keep going to her until she decides to retire.
I love Dr. Amy Schmidt I've been going to her for years. She takes the time to listen to you and cares about her patient's. I will forever be going to her. Every time I visit her she's always been so pleasant and never rushes to leave the room, like most Dr's.
I had a pinched nerve. I was not able to get in with my primary care doctor for a few months so I took the soonest appointment available which was with Dr. Schmidt. When she came into the room she was very short and asked me why I wasn’t seeing my primary. When I tried to explain my current issue, I was cut off and told in a condescending manner that I should see my regular doctor. When I told her I could not take a certain type of medication (due to a contraindication), I was told “well what do you want me to do? Tell me what you want.” I tried to continue to explain my problem and was told “You know what, a lot of MY patients are trying to get in to see me, and I am here dealing with this”…I was stunned. She did not even offer to perform a physical exam. As I left the room, she made a snide remark that “this is the problem with scheduling”. As a medical professional myself, if I ever talked to a patient that way I would be fired. It is unacceptable to treat patients in this way. This visit was a waste of my time, my pain was not resolved, and thankfully the manager refunded my copay. I will never have a visit with Dr. Schmidt again.
Very bad attitude as a patient you have every right to ask the doctor about things she does not want to be asked or anything that she does I would not recommend her to anyone she has harassed me because I was reading prescription side effects and said I should not be reading stuff like that. And I agree with some of the other the reviews of her that speaks more for anything. Wanted to put me on Prozac but I said no and she gave me a 10 minute lecture on why I should take that she is not God!!!!
I have been her patient for 8 years. I thought she was a compassionate, understanding ,medical professional until this past year....I asked for and IUD as birth control because I had been forgetting to take my pill .....she refused and said "I don't do that" and put me down saying "why can't you remember to take a pill it's not that hard. Then this month my ADHD medication was accidentally thrown away and she flipped out screamed at me and was extremely unprofessional!!!! I had to go to th ER for withdrawals. She has horrible bed side mannor, no patient should EVER BE TREATED LIKE THAT PERIOD!!!! BEWARE!!
