The hotel is nice especially if you are looking to just pass through but personally we had a few problems. First the good. The location is great, the hotel staff front counter staff was great, and easy parking.
Food was great in the Restaurant. Really good service.. 1st morning the shower handle was stripped. No water. Even after it was "fixed" it would spin a bit before working. Then they double billed my credit card and 30 days later I still am not getting a response from anybody at this hotel.
The hotel works if you are passing through and mold doesn't gross you out. But we stayed four nights and every shower was an effort in not touching the walls.
Maintenance still had work to do. Closet didn’t have a clothes rack nor luggage rack. Mini fridge didn’t have a knob to turn on. Patch work above shower wasn’t complete. Spackel from patch work was on wall and floor. Wallpaper was torn not peeling at seams. Housekeeping left the door to room open. I have pictures to show I was not exaggerating.
The staff was very professional. It was a good stay with the exceptions of these things: the quality of food in the restaurant is horrible. The server was kind and apologetic but it was horrible food. The other thing is even though it was right next to the airport, I didn't have trouble with airplane sounds, more of my neighbors. The walls were so thin! I was awoken by an alarm from another room, I could hear my neighbor from across the hall 2 doors down snoring and the conversation of the neighbors directly to the side of me. The stay was paid for by my employer but if I would go back to Albuquerque on my dime, I wouldn't stay there.
I am happy to say the rest of the room was clean and the beds very comfortable..
The not so great. Our toilet was running when we got there which they fixed but to flush the toilet you had to hold the lever down until it was completely finished flushing. The air conditioning never really got the room cool. There was mold in the shower (see pictures) and in the closet. We told the front desk about it and asked them to have it cleaned but no progress. In addition the last day they gave us one less towel when cleaning the room. So when we got back I asked the cleaning lady for a towel. She looked at the other girl helping her, gave a huge sigh, and her body language alone told me she was annoyed. Finally she asked what size.
Front desk was wonderful: polite, helpful, and friendly. The room was excellent, clean, and very comfortable beds with high quality pillows and sheets.
The only reason this doesn't receive 5 stars is because of our negative experience with the restaurant staff: they messed up not only our order, but two other tables around us. VERY unprofessional responses when told to correct the large mistakes (for example, if you have allergies or dietary restrictions such as not able to eat pork, you probably cannot trust you will get what you need on the first try). I actually heard one shout at a table from across the room, "DID YOU WANT YOUR EGGS OVER EASY, OR OVER MEDIUM??" to which the bewildered customer replied "..... scrambled?" and received "OH, RIGHT, SORRY!" As he ran back into the kitchen.
Room should not have been rented out!
However, if you don't plan on eating there, you will have a fantastic stay!
