After we got our room key we had to go back to the office to ask the clerk something, but he was not in the office instead we found him behind and slightly under the stair case outside the office smoking "pot" with two other guys. FYI pot smells similar to a skunk, but any how we interrupted him (them) and got what we needed.
It is a great find and good stay. Also across from this place are four GREAT places to eat: Holy Cow, best burgers you will find anywhere, Farina pizza, fabulous and the two cafes, Grove Street and Artichoke. You can't go wrong with these places and so close to this Days Inn.
This place is absolutely disgusting and the mangament is awful. After checking into our room we discovered that the fire alarm was beeping an extremely loud high pitched beep due to it needing new batteries, no big deal. But when asking for it to be changed/or for a new battery, we were told maintenance would be there soon. Almost 24 hours later, at 5am we get woken up from the beeping. No maintenance, no nothing. We went downstairs for a battery and were told by an overnight worker that she wasn't going to call the manager because she didn't want to wake her up. Apparently only the manager has batteries and won't give them out without being forced to. But here we were, paying customers, who were now woken up by something that was supposed to be taken care of. So after getting into an argument with the very rude overnight worker, we finally got our battery. Aside from that, we found mold in the coffee maker and blood splattered in our dresser. The bathtub was filthy and there were spots on the rug that were so sticky our feet would get semi-stuck. Will never stay here again and have also contacted Wyndham for a full refund because of how awful our stay was.
Had a good experience in this Days Inn. It was simple but comfortable. The breakfast each day was delicious. Also it is a short walking distance to downtown and a simple bus ride to Old Town.
Nice area, rooms were good and clean. Couldn't hear any traffic even though we were close to some main roads. The early weekend breakfast was nice. Would stay again
So I thought well I am going to report this guy to the owner or manger in the morning. Well as it happened , I came out side to get something from the car, and I saw another guy out smoking drugs (pot) under the steps with the other 3, and again I thought in the morning I will complain to the manager/ owner. Well when morning came we went into the office to check out.... imagine my surprise to see the manager owner balding middle aged Indian guy behind the counter was one of the guys out smoking dope that night. So there was no need to share my complaint with him. When we asked for a receipt he said no he could not give us one. I said I just gave you some money and so you are going to give me a receipt. He again said no, I dont have one and my printer is broken, I then said.... Than you need to write one out by hand..... or we will all be meeting with the police, with that he went into the back room wrote out a receipt came into the lobby and through it on the counter and walked out with out a word. Well I could go on about the breakfast that was in the lobby as well... but we were not about to have any of that. This was our real experience at the days inn on central ave... I hope it paints a more accurate picture of the place .... that we will never take our family.
We planned to stay the night in the city, for shopping and the tram ride the next day. So we had made reservation a couple days before. POW, getting there and seeing it in person...... what difference from the pictures on the internet When we first arrived, was asked to see a room before we completed our reservation. as it was looking pretty sketchy. The 20 something guy behind the register, with a rolling of the eyes and a loud sigh....reluctantly went out side without saying a word .... we were just supposed to understand that he was going to grant us this huge favor, and show us a room, which he did. If it were not so late we would have left and found another hotel.
This place gets one star because the black out curtains really do black out the room. Otherwise, there are no redeeming qualities. Parking is limited to about 20 spots. Insulation is nonexistent - you can hear every car that goes by and every movement of every person on the other side of the wall. I checked in at 2 AM after an 8-hour drive and found that there were dozens of hairs embedded in the bottom fitted sheet of both beds in the room. I was exhausted so I slept on top of the flat sheet and covered with the other flat sheet, flipped over. In the morning, I asked the clerk to be sure housekeeping actually changed the sheets before my second night stay (I would have loved to go elsewhere but I was here during the balloon festival -- zero rooms available). She said she would. However, when I returned several hours later, the sheets were exactly as I had left them. I finally asked for clean sheets and just changed them myself.
