We first walked into the motel office to discover a college study group. The young people running the place were absolutely delightful and so down to earth. The room was huge and totally 1950s. This was THE BEST motel experience. In fact, as a family, we are scheduling a vacation just to stay at this place once again.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Ended up staying here with two colleagues when a reservation elsewhere fell through at the last minute. Cheap! Large QUIET rooms, old but clean, in an awesome neighborhood (Nob Hill) with many funky shops, great family restaurants and fancier independent places, and no fewer than four brewpubs within just a couple blocks. I might not have even found the neighborhood if I hadn't accidentally stayed at the Hiway House, and I barely left the neighborhood the whole week I was there. I also screwed up my reservation, and even though their posted policy is non-refundable, they kindly let me cancel with no penalty. THANK YOU. Expedia customer service was fabulous on this front too. YAY for serendipitous events. I love you, Hiway House. Thanks to your friendly and helpful staff, and I hope this motel lasts many more decades!
This place is great one of the best stops on the old 66. They are bring old into the new they are working so hard redoing the rooms there are so many people working hard all the time on the rooms. The lady that cleans she is great. The two young brothers are very nice helpful do a great job run this classic Nick is very helpful and john is full of stories thank you for the memories
My daughter and I stayed here April, 2015, based on the ratings on this site. We ended up having an incredible, unforgettable time-- because of this motel.
Excellent location in the heart of Nob Hill's retail stores and restaurants. Clean, safe family environment with a dedicated staff. Large comfortable rooms. The owners are on site 24/7, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay. Highly recommended for nightly, weekly, and monthly stays!
