Before I get into details let me first say I am calling the state board of barbers and cosmetologists tomorrow. Nice receptionist- that is why I don't mind giving a one star instead of zero. I go to sit down in the stylists chair and notice there is hair all over the floor. Not just a few strands here and there...like a whole haircut's worth. I figured the stylist would probably multi-task and clean up while we were chatting. No. Then I see some used combs with hair ask over them sitting on the counter. The counter was filthy btw with personal belongings, snacks, towels, hair.... I started to get nervous but giving the benefit of the doubt that she would clean up. Maybe before she goes to mix my color. No. She comes back with the color mixture and goes to get a "clean" comb from a collection of combs in the drawer -- that has hair on it!!!!!! As she casually knocked the hair off of the comb I made an excuse and ran out of there. Not that being busy would be a good excuse here, but at least it would be an excuse. But they weren't even busy!!! The only reason this would happen is if no one who worked there gave a crap about spreading communicable and infectious diseases.
My mother and I decided to pamper ourselves while I was in town and go get our hair done together. I started my appointment with light brown hair. I asked for a Balayage and was told a master colorist would help me achieve that. The stylist came back with 3 bowls of color and began to foil my whole head. After the 2nd foil was in I was confused and asked her why she wasn't painting my hair. She told me hair painting was a gimmick and that she has been doing it this way for years. I didn't want to stray from my natural color and wanted to lighten the hair around my face as well as the tips for a sun kissed look. She assured me that she was just bringing out my natural color as well as making the requested areas lighter. Fast forward to the end of my appointment.... I have a full head of white highlights and the rest of my brown hair is ORANGE! After 4 hours wasted and $236 later I am pissed to say the least. Thank god my hair salon back in California is going to help me repair my hair.
Like any salon it really depends who you get. I highly recommend Delores and Amanda. You will get an excellent haircut from both and I can also vouch for Delores on doing color very well.
