I went here on Sept 29, 2011. It was the worst experience ever. When I walked in there were cut nails on the floor. I only stayed because I was meeting a friend here. The pedicure was ok although the nail polish started chipping after only 3 days. I asked for gel polish for my fingers. Selection was very poor. The man doing it was more interested in watching Ellen on TV than paying attention to what he was doing. I told him I didn't want them square 3 times, there were snags in them and I had to cut one off when I got home. They were so slow. After an hour and a half, I still didn't have polish on them and when I looked at his file job on my nails, I was very upset. I wish I could submit a picture to show how bad it was. He then told me that I would have to wait for one of the 2 females to polish my nails. I was beyond frustrated at this point. I then put on my flip flops and noticed that the nail polish was not even smooth. It was like there was a bristle loose and it drug through the polish. He just wanted to put another coat of polish on it. I ended up leaving without having my nails done. My friend had gel on her nails and it started chipping within 48 hours so I question if it was really gel. If you value your money, don't go here. It was a very disappointing experience and the poorest quality ever......and they didn't open up new tools that had been autoclaved so if you don't want a staph infection, you will stay away from ABQ Nails and Spa.
I've been here twice (and I feel like I should preface this review by saying I've never left a bad review in my life and I'm generally very easy to please). The first time I was greeted so rudely I left. I read some of the other reviews and thought I would give it another chance. The second time I went in a woman barely greeted me (she was playing a game on her iPad) and seemed bothered that I was there. I asked for white tips and she put the wrong nails on, then had to soak the few off (I stopped her before she could finish). Then she put all of the wrong sized nails on and it was extremely painful. I asked her to stop and she got angry and told me that I should go some place else. She soaked the nails off again but left my natural nails in terrible condition. I've only lived in New Mexico a month so I based checking this place out on some of the good reviews. I will never go back here again!
I tried to give this place a shot a second time, even after having a bad experience the first time. Big mistake!
The second time I went... they said they couldn't take me! There were two people in front of me, but they couldn't take me. Didn't even ask me if I wanted to wait. Just, no. Unbelievable.
By far the worst nail salon I have ever been too! I just went there and the lady couldn't even get off my old acrylics and destroyed my nails. She soaked them in acetone for almost 30 minutes. Now my fingers are all dry and cracked. Not only that but she didn't even manage to get all of the acrylic off. I finally just left. It was awful! Don't even try!
The first time I went for a pedicure, I picked a color, and they told me I could only have one toe done in that color! Really! WTH?
I'll never go back, obviously!
If I could give it zero stars, I would! The worst, worst, worst...
