Love the selection of fishing gear.
I moved here because of the great view on the back side of the apartment complex and because there was a great walking path shaded by trees. Well, the trees got ripped out by the Rio Grande Conservancy and replaced by concrete, which made my apartment SUPER HOT in the summer. I only have a 670 square foot apartment, but it costs me $165.00 a month for electricity for at least two months out of every year because the air conditioning is not affordable. I am ill and can't live with the heat, so I am not happy about that aspect, since I am low income. We still have the view of the golf course, however, and that's really nice. There is NO easy way to get to decent shopping, and they've now built a big transit system in the middle of the road, so you HAVE to turn east when leaving the parking lot, which means you can't easily get yourself going west on Central in order to access stores that are closer. I end up having to travel 4 to 6 miles to the health food store. There are LOTS of homeless and transients here, and I had to install my own security doors to keep them from trying to break in, but they do steal anything that isn't locked down, including my rolling walker. If I wasn't on the low income program, I probably wouldn't live here because it isn't convenient for shopping or other errands, but of the available rentals on the affordable program in Albuquerque, this is probably the nicest community. I really like being near Old Town, and I like the view out the back window. Like any other apartment complex, it has had its ups and downs. Whether you like it here depends on what you want, I suppose. If you like wild life, such as hawks, egrets, cranes, beavers, big turtles, and such like...then you'll like it here.
