Wow! My first time and way more impressed than expected. Still I’d call it a once in a lifetime event. The Morning Accent and Glow shows are an amazing site, great for photography. The museum is worth 30-60 minutes. Decent art for sale and the rest is over priced fair food.
It was very inexpensive to get in, so you can take your whole family and not spend a fortune. Parking was very reasonable as well. If you wait until the daily event is almost over, food is cheap, too.
The best part is that you can get very close to the balloons (right up to them!) and talk to the pilots about their balloon. It was a lot of fun. I'll definitely go back again next year.
Amazing event. Stayed in RV lot. This books up fast. Reservations are made up to a year in advance. Most is dry RV slot that are tight. Allow several days, since balloons don't launch if too windy. We were lucky and saw two beautiful launches.
This was the first time I had attended the Fiesta. Wow!
This is a must see. It is amazing to watch all the beautiful balloons go up. You are completely surrounded by balloons it is awesome. I would highly recommend the park and ride this event has mastered the park and ride. Lines may seem long but it moves rather quickly. Lots of food and drinks before and after not much on crafts or stuff like that.
Is a long time Albuquerque resident I have always thoroughly enjoyed watching the Balloon Fiesta from many parts of town, but nothing can quite match the experience of being at the Fiesta grounds. It's hard to be there before dark, and it can be quite cold, but there's hot coffee, hot chocolate and plenty of good warm food. There are also many vendors selling really interesting items for both tourists and locals. But the real experience starts right before sunset when the balloons start their glows and Dawn Patrol takes off, and becomes magnificent as the sun rises and all the balloons begin to populate the skies over Albuquerque. It's magical. There's just nothing like it.
