I looked these guys up online and saw that they had excellent reviews.
I brought my car to Zia Auto Repair, in an emergency, after it had overheated and was profusely pour out coolant. The job was originally estimated to be about $500, and I ended up paying $700; which in the grand scheme of things was not terrible. When I did get my car back two days later...it was returned to me with a known o-ring leak that could potentially be an issue. I was advised to drive it and just "see what happens." I drove it that evening and it leaked about 4-6 ounces of coolant, that also occurred the next morning. I immediately brought it back to the shop where it stayed for over a week waiting for the part. In that time period, it developed several additional issues. There was a tube from the temperature thermostat housing to the radiator that was "eroded," although they disposed of the part before I was able to see it, so I cannot confirm if that was true. I was also told that my rubber boot (a part that connects the turbo to the air filter was not performing properly). Upon later inspection, it was revealed that they did not properly secure the part to the air filter, thereby creating a small air leak to show that my car was not functioning properly. In their overall initial review they stated that my passenger-side ball joint and spindle needed to be replaced. They were not doing work in this area of the vehicle, and I cannot imagine how they deemed this to be true without removing the break; which they did not do. Again, after further inspection, completed by myself and a trusted mechanic, we determined that there were no issues with either the ball joint or spindle...a $900 job that was unnecessary. I feel as though I was taken advantage of at this shop. The lack of good communication made working with them frustrating; I had to call daily for updates, truthfully it should have been the other way around. I would not recommend anyone to this shop.
Superb service! Didn't try to sale you things you didn't need, let you know what could wait, and their prices cannot be beat. Thanks for your help!!

Great communications and very high quality work! Alex and his crew diagnosed the problem with my car quickly and correctly. They clearly explained what was wrong and how they could fix it. And the price was less than I expected to pay! It was the kind of repair where it would have been easy to gouge the client, and they didn't. Overall a very good experience and much better than what I have had from the manufacturer's dealerships. I will definitely take all my future car repairs and maintenance to this clean and well run shop.
They wanted $XX for the diagnostic, and ended up charging me half becuase it was a quick check. :)
Probably the most honest and thorough mechanic I have ever met. They took my car fixed only what was necessary to get me back on the road and did not try to upsell me on things that I did not need. He even took off the inspection fee which was $106. I cannot say too much about these folks they treated me like I was family. I even received a ride from the auto repair shop to my motel and back to the automobile shop once my car was fixed. These folks are the real deal. If you want your car fixed right the first time by a very talented crew of mechanics and won't try to cheat you out of your hard earned money go to Zia auto repair in Albuquerque they are the best!!!
Very personable, really clean and excellent customer service. Ended up not going with them for the repair, becuase the job was basic enough to do it at home.

I will be back if my homemade repair doesn't suffice.
