I had a pretty terrible experience with R&S Service. I bought a used KLR 650 and took it to them for basic maintenance and a road-worthiness inspection before a long 6-day trip to Southern Colorado. Long story short, their lack of attention to detail and lack of quality work left me with a bike in worse shape than when I brought it to them. I ultimately, was left stranded within a few hours after picking it up and my entire trip was ruined at great expense to my wallet.
I live in Taos and will gladly take the time and money to return for any future ATV/UTV related needs. I felt they ALL went above and beyond for my family and I, we're all very happy with our 2017 Kawasaki teryx. I'll have to say that Alma is great at her job so if you plan on negotiating....bring your A game. I'd give them 5 stars but Alma was better than me at negotiating lol.
Excellent Salesman (Jared) Finance (Alma) and Manager (Galen Soden)
This has to be one of the best powersports dealers in the state. They have a really nice relaxed, no pressure atmosphere. No pushy salesmen, and they have some of the best prices on bikes/quads that I've seen! This place is awesome!
One other thing...I was there when a customer was being an all out jerk...the man in the repair shop was calm and professional.
I have purchased several units from R & S... they are great to work with and understanding of where the customer is in trying to make the right decision. Ask for Bob when you go in...very kind, low pressure & knowledgeable of the units. The manager (Gayland- sp?) is as sharp as I have seen; he will give a fair deal.
The disappointing part of my dealings with R&S (aside from shoddy maintenance and a ruined trip) is when I asked for a full refund of my money they attempted to nickel and dime me citing that they wouldn't refund me for certain things i.e. oil filter, oil, various shop parts, etc. It amounted to a hundred dollars short of the total service cost. R&S is a big business in ABQ. I was given a bike back that was quite literally falling apart. I incurred a lot of additional expenses and will continue to incur a lot of additional expenses to repair my bike. A hundred dollars to me is worth a whole lot more than a hundred dollars to a big business but instead R&S wanted to play games.
To their credit, they offered to bring the bike back for repairs free of charge to me. However, trust is important and not easily regained once lost. It’s the same as if a dentist screwed up a root canal then said, "hey, let me have another shot at it." No thanks! I instead asked for a full refund of my money to put back into the bike at a different shop or by work myself.
I would caution anyone planning to use R&S Service for his or her vehicle. Be wary and on the lookout. I would advise R&S to not play games with their customers. If you screw up, own up to it, and do anything your customers want to regain their trust. If they don't want to use your service anymore....don’t try to convince them. If they want all of their money back, just give it to them. I did end up getting all of my money back but only after reminding R&S of how silly they were being. Don’t play games R&S, just don’t. It’s not good for business.
Good selection new and used. The sales person was professional and not pushy.
