One word, OVERPRICED. Expect to pay at least $60 for a dinner plus 2 drinks for 2 (not including tip). Not gonna go into excessive details about our meal, but the menu is all pretty much overpriced. The place definitely has the "old" look that it's known for, but the dust on most of the dining room area has been there since it opened in the 70's. I would think as much as they're charging people for food the place would be super clean and updated. The plates look like cafeteria plates from Golden Coral. The Salad Bar is just ridiculous, the soups look like they've been sitting there all day, clumpy and old. The presentation of the dinner plates was embarrassing. No garnish, just a steak and your side. I can get a better looking plate at a buffet. I would highly recommend they close down and maybe think about remodeling the place and it's menu. Sorry Cooperage, but I will not be returning. I'll stick with Outback. Thanks

I used to dine here often and not only have the lost me as a customer they have lost everyone else I dined with this evening. Whether or not I was right or wrong I should never have been made to feel like their mistake was my fault and I was being unreasonable. Save yourself the trouble and go to literally any other steak restaurant in the area. The one star is for the hostess who was more than sweet. Otherwise I would give zero stars.

As the designated liquor concession for the Albuquerque Garden Center, we had the pleasure of working with The Cooperage for my daughter’s recent wedding. Throughout the planning process, their catering manager, Cici, was knowledgeable and generous with her time. She provided valuable input on how best to design a cocktail hour and reception set-up that worked within our budget. She also assured us of their servers’ attention to responsible drinking at the event. All went smoothly on-site with a seamless transition from outdoor cocktail hour to indoor dinner/reception. The tab was almost spot-on what we expected and our guests seemed happy!

I get that this place has the old timey feel and lots of older people like to eat here because of the prime rib, but this place is not great.

They pack people in like sardines in a can. It's basically an overpriced buffet. Small glasses, small plates, and small tables. There are plenty of places to eat in town that are better than this place. If you are over 50 and you want prime rib, this is the place for you. If you want something delicious, go elsewhere.

I ordered a sirloin steak medium rare. I received a medium well steak with tendons and fat throughout the cut. I sent this back. The server offered me shrimp instead of a new steak as it would be shorter wait. Seeing as they are a steak house and specialize in prime rib (which they were out of) and steaks, naturally I came for a steak; not seafood. I politely asked for a new steak and for it to come out medium rare as I had originally requested. *Mind you every meal you order comes with the salad bar so once you place your order you are supposed to get up and enjoy the salad bar. I tried the cream of broccoli soup and took maybe a third of a cup of salad and piece of jello. I would never have decided on the salad bar had it not been included with my meal* The server brings out the new steak which on the outside looked good and cutting a little ways into it looked rare but edible. As I'm cutting through the middle I take a bite of an almost blue steak and it is ice cold in the center as if it just came out of the fridge. At this point the rest of my party is finished with their meals and having to wait for a third steak would be just unreasonable. I did ask the server to throw the steak back on for a little bit and she said if she did that the steak would just come out medium well. I just didn't understand that response. I have eaten steak at plenty of steak houses, I've cooked steak myself, does she think I'm an idiot?! How hard is it to throw the steak on just long enough so the center isn't frozen? I asked her remove the steak meal from my bill. When she returned with the check, the server charged me $13.00 for salad bar. I would never have chosen to order the salad bar and in fact I didn't: I ordered a steak which happened to come with the salad bar. I went to the hostess and asked her to please send the manager over so I could explain my issue with the check. As I was explaining what happened the manager interrupted me and said that our server had communicated to the kitchen the wrong temperature to the kitchen on steak #1 and when she cam back for the second one he heard her ask for the steak rare. He then went on to tell me that I ordered incorrectly because this server hasn't made a single mistake in the 23 years she's been working at the restaurant. Meanwhile our whole party (of 5) all explained to the manager that they heard me order my steak medium rare every time. The manager said that was just not the case and continued to argue with me about how I ordered. I said I wanted the meal taken off the check. He said fine and walked away. No apology for the mix up or the waste of our time waiting for them to get it right. No apology for the fact that I went out for dinner for a birthday and left without having my meal. Nothing. When the server came back with the checks for the other people at the table she refused to make eye contact with me and neglected to apologize for the inconvenience. I have been in her shoes. I have been in the restaurant industry for several years as a server and worked closely with restaurant managers. Never in my life have I experienced something that made me feel degraded belittled and most importantly invalidated. As a consumer, I have a right to complain when the goods I have received are not what I asked for. I will never ever go back to this restaurant.

I was very disappointed my steak was small tough and my baked potato was cold when it came up and didn't even melt the butter. The waiter brought another potato that wasn't very much warmer. We ordered the house wine that tasted like the cheapest wine you could buy we will not go back and it was not surprising at 8 at night there was very few people in there, we used to go that years ago and had to wait to get a table. Sorry but you did ask for our opinion
