4) another steak was well done when ordered medium rare

"Albuquerque's Premier Dining Experience"- False

We still haven't been received a response after repeated calls & emails. We have not been back to the restaurant bit the casino to spend another cent.

Who ever decided these days is a total bone head!

I have dinned here on a number of occasions, but after the last time we will not be going back. After waiting 20 mins to get a glass of water after being seated. The food we ordered came cold. I complained to the manager who told me it was my fault for dinning there . He came to our table rolling his eyes as he walked , looking more like a groundsman than a restaurant manager . Then was close to tears and said I was picking on him because I complained. The manager needs to grow up. This use to be a favorite of mine.

1) took at least 15 minutes to even be approached by a waitress/waiter after being seated

Oh man... where to begin...

5) took 30 mins for new steak to come out

3) the wine that came was not the same year as described in the menu/ purchased (!)

UPDATE:

4) was told there were 4 short ribs left (specialty item that night for a premium)... after 4 of us ordered the short rib they came back later informing us there were only 3 left

2) took another 15 mins for the 2 bottles of very expensive wine to come out

staff was clueless. I don't even think this list is complete. Avoid going here at all costs. not worth the money even if it was half price. dined in on 10-7-17

We made our way to our table and were greeted by our server, Cruz. She was polite & friendly. Cruz took our drink order & my wife & I headed to the buffet food area. The selection was quite poor and the food quality was substandard in my opinion. I tried some dried out Salmon & some soggy bow tie pasta with red sauce & rubbery meatballs. I didn't finish the plate. My wife had crab legs which she said were good.

So in closing, if you want crappy food and attitude from the line cooks, by all means head on over. You're literally gambling with your stomach. You should just take the $$ and put it in a slot machine. You'd have a better chance.

They are losing a lot of money by being closed these days and I don't think they care.

Way too many people come to town for the weekend and that includes Sunday.

If they need to be closed 2 days they should choose Tuesday and Wednesday.

6) took FOREVER for bill to come

Also a lot of holidays give Mondays off and again that is when people are in town. Duh!

I went to find the restaurant manager. The restaurant manager had no idea that they were out of prime rib so he calls the chef. The manager & I go over to talk to the chef. I ask the chef "How can a restaurant that serves prime rib be out of prime rib?" The chef just looked at me with a blank stare and had no answer. I told the chef & the manager that I was done and it was unacceptable that for the price people pay for their buffet that they should have the food expected. Then I walked away.

So after eating a disgustingly disappointing plate of fish & pasta, I gave up and decided to just have a piece of pie. It's pretty hard to mess that up, I think. The apple pie was fine. As I was sitting there eating my pie the manager came to our table & tried to offer us something that were probably comp coupons for free meals in a small folder. I didn't even touch them or look inside of the folder. I looked the manager in the eye and told him that "We will not be returning and we will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone."

3) cooking instructions ignored on other dishes

The food and cocktails were delicious. Every single aspect of service was terrible. We showed up 20min early for our reservation and were seated 10min after our reservation time. Drinks took 20 minutes at the bar while we waited for our table. The water for our table took 15min. We needed spoons for two servings of soup before dinner, that took another 10. We waited over an hour for our food in a restaurant that was not over crowded. When the food arrived I expected piping hot and it was warm at best. My party of 7 was very dissatisfied with the lengthy wait on every aspect of service. There needs to be some sort of management/logistics change; this was unacceptable.

The reason I gave this restaurant one star is their hours. They are not open on Sundays and Mondays. I often have out of town guests come and the day that always seems to be the best to take them to the bar at the top is on Sunday.

I went up to the carving station to get some prime rib. Now it's about 8:30pm & the buffet closes at 10pm. I look down at the carving block & see nothing but scraps and a couple of pieces of dried out prime rib. So I wait about 10 minutes before someone shows up to help me. The carving station attendant said something incoherent and disappeared. He came back, opened a hot box, pulled something that looked like a chunk of meat & then then threw it in the trash. He then told me that they were out of prime rib.

5) short rib was terrible- dry and flavorless

Let's start from the beginning. It's Saturday night & my wife and I decide to use a gift card that she received from a coworker. So we pull up to the valet around 8pm and drop the car off in the trust of a complete stranger in a vest. We then walk in to the casino and head to the Than Shur Buffet where we wait in line for about 15-20 minutes behind some very loud obnoxious people. We pay for our meals (around $26 each) & make our way to the front of the line where we are held behind the all mighty retractable black nylon barrier that only the privileged may open. Or that's how it seemed. The lady that opened the flood gate wasn't very friendly and seemed quite miserable.

We then leave a proper tip for our waitress Cruz, as it wasn't her fault I didn't see the need to skimp on her tip so we left the appropriate tip. I filled out the comment card and turned it in but that will probably go nowhere but the trash.

I never write poor reviews online and I am not entitled- I genuinely want to help others avoid throwing away their money for such poor service. More is needed at this price point.
