We love Hartford Square so much that we used them to cater the deserts for our 200+ guest wedding. The professionalism, dependability, and value we received from them was over the top. We highly, highly recommend Hartford Square for an on the go breakfast, casual lunch, or catering event large or small.
A true Albuquerque gem!!!
This place won't be a secret for long. Go now before word really gets out.
HAVE KIDS BEWARE!!! See owners response after I complained about their bad food...so now I will add Horrible Customer Service as well!
Make the drive to Santa Fe, and try the Tune-Up Cafe, Counter Coulture, or Clafoutis, in fact the owner of the Hartford should go as well, to see what good food at a small coffee shop is supposed to taste like!
Best kept secret in Abq!
Highly, highly recommend you become a regular at Hartford Square! Sarah and her staff are innovative and healthy with every meal they create. The menu changes regularly- a true attribute to how Sarah loves to change with the season and keep the options fresh.
I love the fresh, inventive, and delicious plates they serve up.
On to the food:
This cute little cafe offers exceptional food and drink choices! They have everything from lite options to some pretty decadent full size meals and prices that are fair and proportional. The service was friendly and attentive.
Hartford Square comes quite highly recommended. As someone always searching for organic/local fare, I found Hartford Square on a google search one day after typing in "best organic restaurant Albuquerque". I couldn't believe I'd been living here a year and hadn't found this place!
Always organic, local, and exceptionally delicious, Hartford Square never disappoints. It's hard to make bad food when you use such amazing ingredients. And the owner/chef has a special way of making these dishes taste gourmet and totally home-cooked at the same time. My personal favorite is her Huevos Rancheros brunch special.
The potatoes and steak hash were COLD, the steak was all fat and disguisting, the eggs were probably powder because they were flavorless, the tortilla for the burrito was cold and the "tomatillo salsa" just tasted like tomato...and that about wraps it up, but my girls did love the milk and chocolate milk. The biscuit with cheddar wasn't that bad, definitely not fresh though, because it was super hard! This place should probably stick to serving Only Pastries, since that's what everyone else was having, because the food is horrible, and now I know that, if you google brunch in Albuquerque, DO NOT GO HERE! You will be very disappointed.
The Hartford Square wrote: Thank you for your kind comment. Iamsorry that you feel that way. Perhaps you should stick to home until you can teach your children not to scream in restaurants. I was surprised that you only drove a few customers out, and not all of them.
My daughters are 2 and 4, so yes they still have lots to learn, but by not taking them out that's not going to happen, so NO I WILL NOT STAY HOME! By the way we go to plenty of restaurants in Santa Fe, and yes kids cry and yes sometimes we get stares, but we didn't get that vibe with your customers, so it looks like you are the only one that's got a PROBLEM WITH KIDS. So maybe you should hang a sign that says FAMILIES WITH KIDS ARE NOT WELCOME, we are trying really hard to be a cool hipster coffee shop with good food, the only thing missing now is the good food!
