The sound and stage area are actually really good for concerts. I have seen Tool, Metallica, and A Perfect Circle here, to name a few, and the show is always well suited for the venue, but the venue it self is a pain to deal with. Since it's on the fair grounds, access in and out isn't always the most convenient and you have to pay to park. There are lots of concession stands inside with pricey products, but not excessively expensive like the Journal Pavilion. Beer, wine, and spirits are also served, but last time we were there we were in line at a station selling alcohol with about 30 other people and there was only one bartender. Needless to say, most people couldn't get drinks before the band started. Security is typically tight here, and you will get groped really good when you are searched.

Christmas Cantana was absolutely beautiful. Tingley always knows how to throw events! I also graduated here, it was beautiful

It's so old! I wish they would invest more money that they make in those places to build something better! I mean the monster trucks can't even barely hit the gas in that place without almost hitting the wall? lol they really need to upgrade the Tingly Coliseum we have nothing in Albuquerque and the least things they could do is build better venues for the public, so they could get more better concerts in the area!

This place pretty much sucked as far as I'm concerned. Before the show it had a FEMA camp atmosphere with all the rules being broadcast every 3 minutes over a loud speaker. No cameras, no moshi ng, no guns or knives obviously, and anyone not following all the rules gets kicked out. There were more security running around than patrons to the show. A Perfect Circle but on a great show but there were interruptions with people being spotlighted in the crowd trying to take a cell phone pic. Yeah it was that bad! Come on man! I get if they were recording the whole show but damn! A guy next to me got yelled at from below and a person behind me got spotlighted twice. Getting out of the parking lot after was a complete cluster. I'm gonna try not to see bands here anymore if I can get away with it. Police state at it's finest.

I agree with what another reviewer has said , This place is a police state. Its insane. Why run a venue if you don't want people to have fun? Prepare to be spotlighted and harassed at every turn. God forbid you dance or pump your fists at a rock show. A Perfect Circle was amazing but this place makes you feel like your prisoners being released for the night to watch a show and then being shuffled back to jail. It is that bad.
