The school is a good one. My daughter loved her kindergarten teacher and loves her 1st grade teacher. However, the principle is absent. If as a parent you have a problem that needs to be brought to the principles attention, she brushes it under the rug. She smiles or says very kindly that she can't do anything. More like she wont do anything. She takes no responsibility for the school or actions that happen. She doesn't try to fix the situation or help in anyway. Overall it's a good school besides the principle.
In our opinion, this school is not the best. We advise to look at other schools first as a much better option if possible. The Principal and Vice Principal have a tendency to both be incompetent, rude, and arrogant. The two of them always take the side of their staff and or outsiders instead of the children and parents like they should be doing! They back the wrong individuals when a situation arises. Parking for parents is utter chaos to say the least. Parking attendants are nasty mouthed, extremely rude, bad behaving, and confrontational with students and parents alike. Teachers are nice at first then once the "honeymoon" is over, they are typical disciplinarians making a major issue out of every little normal kid behavior. Shame on you 7 Bar Elementary School!
My daughter has been to a few schools within APS and this has by far been my favorite. Her 2nd grade teacher Mrs. W has been amazing, attentive and made her transition into this new school a wonderful one. The school events are fun, organized and well planned. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful, and her friends and their parents have been a breath of fresh air. The principal always has a smile on her face, and makes my daughter feel happy and safe there! I would recommend 7 Bar to everyone! Parking is hard to come by, and while parking across the street and walking isn't always convenient, but they help to make it safe for our children and it seems to run pretty smoothly. Thankful to the staff and parents that make this school so wonderful!
when i went here the principal singled me out and was very rude trying to grab my bags and search tough them the school broad had to go to the school with my dad and talk with the principal the principal only suspended me the kids who got me suspended never got in trouble and mrs.silem is not nice i had to be transfered out of the class into mrs.morrow who was nice i rate this at a 0 even thoe i have to put i star i say 0 if u want a good school go to sierra vista elem
