great school in 6th grade but Mr. Abney came and messed everything up some teachers are just plain old mean i wasnt even talking and the teacher yelled at me even though it was a kid all the way across the room. when Mr. Abney came all the great teachers left and all the mean teachers were all that was left. They always messed up my schedule for the first 2 years because i was supposed to be in special ed but they put me in all regular ed wich sucked and had to get switched but i really loved the special ed department overall great teachers. But therr was one teacher in 7th grade who grabbed my hood because i was oaying attention and pulled it back and it left a mark on my neck. I told my parents about and they brought to the principal and Mr. Abney said i was lying. Also the band and all the other music classes were great. i hope the new principle will be better next year but im going to eldorado. I hope hoover gets better and gets better teachers.

The fine arts are absolutely fantastic. Choir, Band, Orchestra etc. As well as the ROTC program, which is a great place to be. But the cons come in with the unbearable stereotypes, and far too much discussion of political opinions around the students. Another super unsettling thing is the teacher's constant nagging about testing. All it does is build up stress and anxiety. They act like the test is a life or death situation.

My wife went to drop off our daughters viola this morning, becase she forgot it. The person at the front desk was rude and condisending to her when she offered to take it to our daughter, and she replied no. Not no that is not allowed for the satiety of the children. This school has changed so much since I went there. I was excided for my daughter to go there but now I wonder if something happens to her will I even be able to get to her to help.

The teachers were terrible with some exceptions, they were not helpful again with some exceptions. The school was great with Mr. Chacho but then once Mr. Abney became principal the school went to rock bottom and a handful of teachers left because of him. All the kids stole stuff sold drugs during class and did them at lunch. And the teachers would do nothing about it. Everyone was rude and always tried to pick fights with every one and were very distracting. Teachers would shop on their phones and if you would ask questions they would say figure it out or get away from me. So Hoover is the most uncomfortable and dirty school I have been to.

I really liked this school when I went there (which was only for 6th grade) however, I didn't really like the principal.
