Embudito is a nice trail to hike after work or on weekends. If you go through the canyon, you can make it into a 5-mile loop with excellent views to the east of the South Sandia Peak and to the west of Mount Taylor, Cabezon, and Albuquerque.
Great hike starting here and finishing up on the South Sandia Peak. Even if you don't go all the way up, it's a fun hike through a lot of different vegetation areas. Plus it's on the right side of the mountain to be fully shaded for half or more of the morning. Not one for bikes or pets.
An easily reached location with good views, especially at sunset. Bike and hiking trails converge here. Many easy trails and a few hard trails into the hills, in the summer they can be hot and are best traveled near sunset or before noon. Note that the parking lot has a gate that locks at specific times based on the time of year so be sure to read the signs before leaving your car.
Didn't know this existed till recently. It's a nice out of the way area with several trails to take including a nice loop. Can also go all the way to Indian School or up to the crest if you've got the stamina for it.
Great place to hike lot of rocks for steps good overall medium hike went 2 miles up so didn't do all 11 miles
