Wonderful service and wonderful breakfast burritos, coffee and salad! I am a regular. Sandra is an amazing manager there who cares about your experience as well as the cafe itself.
The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History hit a home run this time out with their newish restaurant that is a satelite of the original Slate St. Cafe. I love Slate St. but I think this place is even better. You don't have to pay admission to the museum to eat there because it is located on the south end of the lobby adjacent to the outdoor amphitheater. This place seems to have taken off at such a rate that like I said in the title, come early or stay late to get a table. In good weather they open a few tables outdoors too. The nouveau cusine that leans heavily on soup (fabulous!) salads large enough to split and fancy sandwiches are well priced and beautifully presented. The service is fast and friendly. One of the days I was there it was swarming with the "ladies who lunch" crowd who were dressed to the nines, but this isn't a white table cloth kind of place. You can easily split the desserts. I had the lemon bar both times.
