Went in and everyone was super courteous and responsive. I didn't catch the server's name but she was also super attentive. Obviously management leads by example and takes care of their employees, so employees take care of guests. My disappointment started when I exited the building to my vehicle.
The decor was fun. Previously salad had a lot of brown lettuce & was unremarkable. Normally the turkey BLT is outstanding, but I got a Greek salad and it was good, but have been better with better dressing. Raspberry vinaigrette used to be great and available. Take home green chile so-so, wont buy again.
After I discovered this I went in and asked management if they had surveillance cameras. They proudly announced that they do. When I requested to review footage they informed me that the system does not work. Several follow-up calls to The Range and surrounding businesses reveals that no one has cameras on the parking lot. Which, in a city like ALB, is somewhat negligent and not respectful of one's guests and customers.
Net / net... This was a $500 lunch (my deductible) plus the cost of the meal. Also, if you want to assault or rob someone, this is the parking lot to do it in. The food and service was great, but I won't be back. If I did go back I would be carrying knowing that the lot is open game.
I drive to ALB once a week for my BFF dog's chemo treatment. While he was in chemo I went to get something to eat at The Range. When I exited the restaurant someone had hit and run my vehicle in the parking lot, which just made for a great day - hit and run, 8 hours round trip in the vehicle to get to ALB, and watching my dog suffer.
My boyfriend and I have been regulars at this location for 5 years now. From managers to dishwashers, day crew to night, weekday to weekend staff - they all rock! So friendly & caring, and many can offer fantastic recommendations. We've recently moved across town (thankfully the Cottonwood location is now open), but I have a feeling we will still make it a point to stop in. Not to mention the fact that, in 5 years, I've only ever had 1 special that I wouldn't reorder. Great food, fantastic people.
THERE IS NOTHING FINER THAN TO EAT AT THIS DINER!...The place is decorated like very nice southwestern house. We enjoy a great good 'ol home style dinner. The staff is very amiable , the food is like nothing else, especially the desserts.
Came into here on a Saturday morning. We were first told there would be a 15 min wait. We were in a hurry and were going to leave but were informed they had 5 tables being cleaned and we would be seated shortly. A few more groups came in after us. At the point that they seated 3 of the group's that came in after us we decided to just leave and go to Wecks.
