My family and I started coming to Le Chantilly in the late 70's. Their cakes were always delicious. I'm one of the few people out there that loves BUTTERCREAM frosting. They've always been a bit pricey but it was always worth it. But I finally stopped buying cakes from them when I could taste the odor from the refrigerator in the frosting. Here's the thing.....when you use "real" butter in your cakes and frosting the butter will take on the taste of other things in the refrigerator. The refrigerator has to be kept very clean with nothing else to ruin the taste of the butter. The last few cakes I got from there were terrible. All I could taste was a bad tasting frosting that tasted like a dirty refrigerator. Customer service not very helpful or concerned. Sad.....your cakes used to be very good!

Laura was helpful but all 3 teens that worked there were eating behind the counter. It's gross to watch someone eat while they prepare food. That's what breaks are for! This place has really gone downhill. Very unorganized. We called ahead for our cake tasting, still everyone was clueless. Laura may be the only reason I do business here again and that's a big maybe because she was very nice and knowledgeable but the cake was not good. I feel bad saying that but it's true. It used to be delicious and I looked forward to having it at my wedding, but not anymore. The petit fours were a let down and the cakes are not indicative of a French bakery.

I'm not sure about the sit-I'm experience, but I've always loved Le chantilly. My family has been getting mocha breslin cakes from here for over 15 years, we love it. Still haven't found any bakeries I like as much as this one and I live in New Orleans.

Expensive, and they close before 5 pm every day. The cakes have gone down a steep hill and the staff isn't particularly good. The cakes are often dry and take on the flavor of other things in the refrigerated cases.

Newcomers to ABQ, and had been looking for really good croissants for a while (when I say 'really good' I mean compared to croissants I've had in Europe and in big American cities). Found them here -- a lovely place to have breakfast. The french bread, however, was not worth buying.
